Working South Florida since 2011

A local garage door crew, not a call centre

Onyx Garage Door Repair is a South Florida company with its own technicians, its own trucks and its own dispatch desk. We repair and install garage doors across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County, and the work always happens at your door.

Our story

Fifteen years on the same three counties

Onyx started with one truck and one rule: look at the door in front of you before quoting anything. Too many homeowners were being sold a whole new door when a worn roller and a bent hinge were the actual problem, and the fastest way to build a route in South Florida turned out to be simply not doing that.

Fifteen years on we dispatch from five points between Miami and North Palm Beach. There are more trucks and more technicians, but the work is still done by people who live in the neighbourhoods they cover — who know which west Boca communities have to approve a panel style, why a Fort Lauderdale door a mile from the beach eats cables, and what the wind zone means north of PGA Boulevard.

We are not a call centre selling your address on to whoever bids highest. The number on this page reaches our own dispatch desk, and the technician who arrives is on our payroll.

How we work

Six rules we do not bend

Every one of these started as a complaint somebody made about another company in this trade. They are the reason customers call us back instead of starting over online.

01

It goes in writing first

What is worn, what can wait and what the work involves, on paper, before anything is touched. If we open the door and find something else, we stop and tell you rather than adding it to the invoice afterwards.

02

We come to you

There is no counter and no showroom to drive to. The addresses on this site are dispatch points where the trucks start the day; every repair happens at your property.

03

Someone answers at 3 AM

A door stuck open is an open house, so the dispatch line runs nights, weekends and holidays, and it is answered by a person who can send a technician rather than a voicemail box.

04

Built for this climate

Galvanized springs, stainless fasteners and sealed rollers near the coast, and wind-load rated doors with the county paperwork where the code calls for it. Inland hardware fails early here.

05

Repair before replace

A door that needs two rollers and a hinge gets two rollers and a hinge. We will tell you plainly when a door is genuinely past rebuilding, and we are happy to be the second opinion when somebody else has said so.

06

We come back

Every repair carries a written workmanship warranty. If something we installed fails inside that window we return and put it right, with no restocking fee and no argument about whose fault it was.

Our history

From one truck to five dispatch points

We grew by adding points where our own customers already were, not by buying leads in cities we had never worked.

2011

One truck in Miami

Founded as a single-technician residential repair service working Miami-Dade.

2015

Into Broward

The Fort Lauderdale point opened and we started taking on rolling steel, loading docks and association work.

2019

West to Weston, north to Boca

Two more dispatch points closed the gap across Broward and into southern Palm Beach County.

2023

North Palm Beach

PGA Boulevard finished the map. Every address from Miami to Jupiter now sits inside a single dispatch radius.

What to expect

What a visit from us looks like

The same four steps on every job, at every hour, in every city we cover.

Step 1

Tell us what it is doing

Stuck, loud, off its track, reversing on its own. We book a window that fits your day, same-day where we can.

Step 2

We come to you

The technician drives to your door and runs a 25-point check on springs, cables, tracks, rollers and the opener.

Step 3

You see it in writing

What is worn, what can wait and what cannot, in plain English. Nothing happens until you say yes.

Step 4

Repaired and tested

We finish the work, balance the door, test the safety reverse and clean up the driveway before we leave.

Where we work

Five dispatch points, one number

The trucks start the day at these addresses. There is no counter and no showroom — wherever you are, the technician drives to your door.
